drea brown is a black queer feminist poet-scholar whose writing has appeared in a variety of scholarly and creative publications. they are the author of dear girl: a reckoning (Gold Line Press 2015) and Conjuring the Haint: The Haunting Poetics of Black Women (U Press of Mississippi) forthcoming June 2025. they are also co-editor of Teaching Black: The Craft of Teaching on Black Life and Literature (U Pittsburgh Press 2021).) drea is currently an assistant professor in the Department of English at Texas State University.
