Julieta Corpus

South Texas

Julieta Corpus' poetry has been included in Waiting To Be Heard: Voces Desde El Chicho and The Texas Poetry Calendar. She collaborated with visual artist Corinne McCormack Whittemore and poet Katie Hoerth on Borderland Mujeres, which will be published by Texas A&M Press. Her first poetry collection titled, Of Love and Departures/ De Amor Y Despedidas, 2021, is available on Amazon. She was recently awarded a Creative Writing Residency in Tasajillo, Texas to translate a collection of short stories by 2023 Texas Poet Laureate, Ire'ne Lara Silva. Julieta Corpus writes because her poetry is a scream lodged in her throat that must be freed, or it will suffocate her. She resides in Donna, Texas and has been writing since the age of 11.
