It is not the river that carved the Grand Canyon

but the one drop of water

that said, yes, to the movement.

It is not the ring of keys that gives power

but one that opens the door. 

We are not measured by our status,

whether it reaches Texas sun 

or stretches from Town Lake to Lake Travis. 

It is what we do with the light we have

to help shine a path

for someone else. 

My path is brighter

because of a friend like you.
